Hi! I'm Jae, I'm a Manchester School of Art graduate with a BA (Hons) in Fashion Art Direction, and I currently work at NUCO Travel helping passengers with their dream ski trip - as someone who enjoys helping others to make fantastic memories whilst they're away, and is very passionate about snowboarding, it's a very rewarding role!
In my free time, I work on a lot of creative projects, both for personal and professional development. My creative practice mostly focuses on visual identity, graphic design and illustration, but I'd also like to incorporate more of my photography into my work. I have worked casually with tattoo artists to learn the techniques and build my confidence in tattooing, and whilst I am currently not tattooing others, I create lots of ‘flash’ (pre-made design) sheets and bring the ideas of potential clients to life with custom designs. I make and sell prints, apparel, and stickers, with plans for more items in the future, and I am hoping to collaborate with more Manchester-based artists this year to create a network within our city's wonderful creative scene. I am also looking to work with agencies or smaller business for freelance visual identity and advertising/marketing projects.
My personal style is intentionally ‘inconsistent’; I am inspired by so many things that it’d be hard to restrict myself to particular subject matter and visual depictions of such, whether that’s drawing inspiration from the mundane in everyday life and presenting these as joyous concepts to appreciate on a deeper level, or creating whimsical characters and scenarios for fantasy designs. As an art direction graduate, I am fascinated by the infinite possible pathways of design and visual communication, and I enjoy experimenting with various processes and techniques in ways that I feel best compliment the project at hand. I’m proficient in most major editing and design software, and am able to work to a very wide range of ideas and concepts.
If you're interested in collaborating with me, or you wish to get in touch with a project idea or brief, please use the 'Contact' tab to send me an email - I look forward to hearing from you!
