Interactive web-based presentation and participatory panel, 2026

Internet Culture, Interfaces & Intimacy was a panel and workshop hosted at RAW EDGE FEST (part of Rhizomatic! London) in September 2026.

A collaborative project between myself and Celune, the first part of our panel was an individual talk on our research into the internet and ideas of identity online.

Instead of just using a conventional slide-based presentation, I designed a bespoke interactive website to function as the spatial and visual structure for the talk, which acted as a live interface between speakers and audience, allowing us to move fluidly between themes and activities in alignment with where the discussion took us.

The website inherently resists the linear structure of a traditional presentation. Information, prompts, relevant links and visual material can all be accessed, rearranged, and returned to as we saw fit, throughout the entirety of the session, which allowed the panel talk and group discussion to develop entirely responsively.

The second half of the event introduced ideas of poetic computation through a series of participatory writing prompts: audience members responded to small poetic 'algorithms' explored through technological terminology, such as ‘shared document’, ‘refresh’, and ‘cache’.  These word-based prompts were transformed a way of thinking through the central questions of the panel by asking participants to actively engage with the systems of discussion.

This idea extended the subject of the panel into its format - the audience were allowed to interact with the discussion through an interface designed to facilitate collaboration and play, as opposed to just listening from a seat.
